• about me

I’m Brooke (she, her, hers), licensed marriage & family therapist. I was drawn to the professional field of therapy after my own healing journey in therapy changed my life in my early 20s. I consider it a tremendous privilege and honor that I now get to partner with clients to support them in their own journeys of introspection, self-discovery, and transformation.

My therapeutic demeanor is warm, friendly, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. I believe that emotional well being is deeply interconnected with all other dimensions of human life — physical, social, spiritual, environmental, and more. I strive to take a holistic approach to your mental health journey by considering a range of factors that may impact you. Together, we will look for moments to exercise personal agency to create shifts in your life and well being.

When I’m not seeing clients, I love spending time outdoors with my family. I was born and raised in the San Francisco East Bay, and continue to call the East Bay my home.

  • education & experience

I completed my M.A. in Counseling at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. Hallmarks of my graduate work included an exploration of trauma-informed care, social justice, cultural competency, adolescents, self-concept, and social media. As an undergraduate, I received my B.A. from Emory University, where I concentrated my studies in Anthropology and Human Health.

During my years of clinical training, I worked as a full-time therapist for adolescents with eating disorders and multiple diagnoses in the residential treatment setting, providing individual, group and family therapy. From there, I continued my clinical training with Bay Area Psychotherapy Institute, seeing clients with a variety of presenting challenges in an outpatient setting. I have also served as a therapist in schools, providing individual therapy to elementary and middle school students with a range of presenting challenges.

I completed my EMDR intensive basic training parts 1 and 2 with VIA EMDR, an EMDRIA-approved and NBCC-credited training.

I am currently seeing clients in private practice in Walnut Creek, CA. I am a licensed marriage & family therapist (#140377) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. I am a member of California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT).
